There are moments in life when the mirror doesn’t lie, when the face staring back at you no longer feels like your own. For Tammy Demos, that moment came in 2019. She was in Colorado, newly divorced, raising four children, and emotionally drained. Her skin, once luminous, now mirrored her inner state: dull, dehydrated, inflamed. “I had fine lines, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, and dark splotches,” she says. “Not a good look for someone in the beauty industry.”
But even in that difficult chapter, something ancient stirred a memory from a cypress grove in Greece. She was nine years old, walking alongside her grandmother, her Yiayia, who collected pine cones to make soap and candles. “Nature is amazing,” Tammy remembers thinking. “Plants have so much to offer.”
She didn’t know it then, but that seed would bloom decades later into something extraordinary.
From Breakdown to Breakthrough
Tammy had already built a name in the beauty world part owner of CosMedix and co-founder of Osmosis. But it was around 2014 when she first noticed something unsettling: her skin was falling apart. From the outside, she was a successful figure in the industry. But inside, she felt disconnected—from her body, her radiance, and her peace.
This time, she wasn’t interested in launching another brand. She was searching for healing.
She eliminated everything from lab-made products to “clean” ingredients still filled with stabilizers and synthetic vitamins. “I became completely disenchanted with the industry,” she says. “There was nothing left to try except nature itself.”
And so she returned, not just to natural ingredients but to ancestral wisdom. She snipped a leaf from an aloe vera plant, applied the gel, and watched her skin begin to repair itself. It was a turning point.
“I had to rescue my skin,” she says. “But more than that, I had to reclaim my relationship with what’s real.”

Tammy immersed herself in research, traveling the globe to learn from holistic aestheticians and wellness practitioners. “What I found was the same ingredients everywhere—nothing new, nothing promising,” she says.
